What was she thinking......M.I.A.

April 26th was the day songwriter, producer, graphic designer, rapper M.I.A blew the music scene away,with the release of her video for her new single "Born Free". The video displays the very violent and heartbreaking realities of the war stricken middle -eastern countries. Many have been upset and outraged behind the unrestrained acts of violence that the artist has chosen to expose. But really, what was she thinking....?
You see M.I.A., born Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam is more than just an average recording artist looking for attention. She is a political activist, who has a voice and has definitely caught my attention and has my respect. I can not deny the fact that the video is extremely disturbing; but I also can not deny the fact that on an everyday basis the average American forgets whats going on over seas. Yes we experience violence here in the States, but never to the magnitude of our brethren on the other side of the globe.
I think her video was just a glimpse of a reality we (Americans) don't have to face....

me vs. me

Ok, so here goes... I've been telling myself I was going to start a blog for all of my randomness. I fight with myself a lot about things that don't really matter or things completely out of my control. I am entertaining to myself and hope to be of some entertainment to you as well.
